They have collaborated with great artists, such as Dave Douglas, Steven Bernstein, Hindi Zahra, Andreu Panagiotis, and many more. Their band is a unique dialogue between two worlds of percussion, acoustic and electrics: the result is an unexpected and multi-form music in which every sound, every instrument is the main actor.

ANDREW MCCORMACK
British pianist/composer, Andrew McCormack has built a diverse international career with many appearances at major festivals and concert halls all over the globe. He is a long-standing member of the Kyle Eastwood Band and he also has numerous projects under his own name including a trio, a duo with saxophonist Jason Yarde, and the pianist’s progressive jazz project, Graviton.

We will have the joy to hear Andrew play for us on Friday some of his best pieces from his latest album "Solo", a wide-ranging repertoire of engaging and beautifully-played music, some of his own compositions or reinterpretations of others.
Jamie Cullum: Andrew McCormack is an extraordinary British pianist and a great composer as well…amazing technique.
London Jazz News: Without much fanfare, Andrew McCormack has built a diverse and versatile career which now deserves to be taken very seriously.

ARCUS TRIO
Iulian Nicolau – drums
Florian Nicolau – bass
Alex Arcuș - sax, fx
Alex Arcuș returns with a new trio formula that includes Iulian Nicolau on the drum and his younger brother, producer and bassist Florian Nicolau. These young musicians have already collaborated with various artists from the country and abroad.
ARCUS TRIO starts from folkloric elements gathered from traditional Romanian and Balkan music, sometimes sifted through R&B filters, sometimes HipHop, releases specific prog-rock and post-prog sounds and puts them in its own groove. The result is an original, unique sound, not at all sedentary! Without looking for harmonies, with bridges between styles built on unexpected measures and suitable breaks, their pieces are improvised adventures, improvisation being otherwise at the base of the fusion that transpires from their pieces.
Let's hear them out together on Saturday evening and move on their rhythm!

TAREK YAMANI & IGOR SPALLATI
Tarek Yamani - piano
Igor Spallati - double bass
Tarek is a Lebanese-American, Berlin-based pianist who taught himself jazz at the age of 19. A recipient of many prestigious awards such as the Thelonious Monk Jazz Composers Competition, the Baryshnikov Artist-in-Residence, the Huygens Scholarship, the Prins Bernhard Culture fund and the Abu Dhabi Festival Commission, Tarek has been part of three editions of the official International Jazz Day all-star concerts and performed in famous venues such as the Smithsonian Museum (DC), National Sawdust (NYC), Atrium at Lincoln Center (NYC), Boulez Saal (Berlin), MuCEM museum (Marseille), the United Nations Assembly Hall (NYC), Kings Place, Aaron Davis Hall, Melbourne Arts Center, and Gran Teatro de la Habana (Cuba).
Tarek is also an educator, author of two self-published music books on rhythm and a film score composer of films screened in 70+ festivals around the world and broadcasted on AMC network, BBC and Sundance TV.
NYC Jazz Record: A revelation… an organic hybrid of ecstatic proportions
Le Monde: Arabic modes run in his fingers as much as jazz, his playground... a remarkable rhythmic tonicity.
Igor Spallati studied at the Jazzinstitut Berlin with Greg Cohen and John Hollenbeck . In 2011, he was the first winner of the Savoy Award of Excellence. He worked with Mike Richmond , Dado Moroni , Pietro Tonolo , Gabriele Mirabassi , Fred Hersch , Joe Chambers and performed at various jazz festivals.
We have already fallen in love with these two during last year's edition when their live performance was such a thrilling experience for the audience! Can't wait to hear them again!

CHRISTIAN PABST
Christian Pabst, German pianist and composer, is known for being a versatile and open-minded artist, with his albums being called a "surrender to the beauty of music" by international press.
Christian himself says that he wants "to create music that speaks to the heart and mind alike", and his position as an original, strong and genre transcending artist is a true testament to this. Musenblatter says that he is 'brilliant and deeply emotional', while Der Kultur Blog wrote that "Pabst is a virtuoso on his instrument, as well as his musicians''.
His debut was made with "Days of Infinity", critically acclaimed, followed by "Song of Opposites", which extended his trio with an international ensemble of strings, horns and voice, and was regarded by Musenblatter as "the most beautiful record of the year". His most recent release is "Inner voice" and is an international success.
Christian will join our festival on Saturday with a solo piano recital that we are very much looking forward to.
